Pilates isn't about my body for me, it's about my head: on the reformer I finally go quiet. A couple of small tattoos, each one a memory of a person or a place. My kind of evening is a warm sea, dinner barefoot after the beach and a conversation that runs late. Loud crowds and fuss aren't for me. I feel best where it's calm and nobody is rushing, and there are fewer such places than you'd think.
